The first Selector Series Floodlit Challenge of March marked the fifth fixture in this new exciting format. Remember to regularly check the members’ competition noticeboard for the up dated Selector Series League Table.

Rick Handsel produced a remarkable round of golf with a score of 19 Stableford points put himself up amongst the leading pack in the Selector Series. His 19 points around the floodlit 9 were just too good for the rest of the field as he romped to victory by a clear 2 points. 1 gross par and 6 bogeys earned him 16 points alone after his shot allowance, however, he will be kicking himself after scoring only 1 point at the par 4 17th hole. Donnie Rials returned back to the course in style as he walked away with second place after a card playoff on 17 points. Rials beat Byron Kraemer who continued his recent return to form as he finished 3rd also with 17 points. The weekly W.o.W. award was won by Dave Martin with 2 stableford points.

Special Event Winners

Mens Nearest to the Pin in 3 (18th Hole) – Three truly sublime golf shots from Greg Shaw to the par 5 3rd hole saw him take home the men’s special event award.

Ladies Nearest to the Pin in 3 (2nd Hole) – Unfortunately no ladies were able to claim the special event award as the green remained untouched in 3 shots throughout the evening.

Two’s Competition

Could the script be written once again for a mega roll over? The night’s pot contained 210AED and nobody touched it as a two eluded everybody’s scorecard.
