The MMI sponsored Open Challenge Series once again attracted golfers from all over the UAE as this monthly event continues to grow in popularity. Over 70 golfers took part in the stableford format battling for one of the top 3 places and trying their luck on the various special event prizes on offer. There could only be one winner and with a return to form it was Shawqi Sajwani with a brilliant 41 points that took the winners prize three shots ahead of nearest rival Robert Craquelin who managed to post 38 points. One further back on 37 was Sekhar Thodla completing the top three players. The special event prizes, sponsored by the MMI Al Hamra Cellar, were for nearest the pin on each of the tricky par 3 holes. The players to hold their nerve and produce the shots where required were - 4th hole Hermes Frare, 7th hole Steve Towler, 11th hole Chris Stanbrook and finally on the 15th hole Mohammed Darwish.
