The last event for the summer season was event 4 in the Summer Open Stableford Series. This time competitors set of in an 8am Shotgun Start and saw the largest field of the series battling to take the final summer title. With the winter season just around the corner competitors travelled from all over the UAE dusting of their clubs looking forward to playing the superb conditions of the championship course. The format for these events is individual stableford with the players battling to take one of the top 3 places on offer. This event saw a very different final leader board to usual as the winner had a colossal winning margin of 12 points. Roman Weidlich obviously didn’t struggle in the heat as he absolutely destroyed the rest of the field finishing with a very impressive 47 points and taking the title. Second and third place came down to a card play-off as both Nick Oatridge and Kader Tazerout finished on 35 points. Nick had the better back 9 score meaning that he took second place leaving Kader to pick up third. The next major event to be held at Al Hamra Golf Club will be the 6th RAK Mens Open. This order of merit qualifier will take place on the 14th and 15th October and includes chef’s sumptuous buffet on completion of play.
