The annual Al Hamra Trophy got underway early on the first Friday in March with perfect golfing conditions and a large field of members all eager to post the highest stableford score and get their name added to one of the all important winners boards. With prizes going the top 3 including the prize of the winners name going onto the winners wall there was plenty up for grabs for all competitors. With a packed leader board, only two points separated the top eight people with third place coming down to a massive six person card play-off on 35 points. The eventual third prize winner with the best back six score was Cindy Rials. Second place went to new member Greg Harris who finished one point better than Cindy on 36 points. The 2012 Al Hamra Trophy Winner earning the right for his name to be entered onto the trophy and winners board was Anthony Cashman who finished with a one point winning margin on 37. There were also two Nearest the Pin prizes which went to Mohammed Darwish on Hole No. 7 and Bill Grosser on Hole No. 11.
