The last Open Challenge of the Winter Season took place on Friday 18th May over Al Hamra’s Championship Course. As the temperature’s begin to soar competitors were keen to finish of there season in style by picking up one of the many fantastic prizes and trophies on offer. Continuing the recent trend of close leaderboards, only 4 points separated the top 3 places and a card play-off was left to decide the junior division. The junior division was left to a battle between the two brothers of Matthew and Mark Baxter. Both finished with fantastic rounds of 39 points but with 22 points on the back nine it was Mark who just snuck the top prize by one. The overall winner of the senior division was Angelo Kondes who bounced back from his recent break from golf with a great score of 39 points. This was just enough to beat second place Aloysius Hendricks by one who managed to card 38 points. Three points back and collecting third place was John Askew who managed to put together a round of 35 points. The two Nearest the Pin prizes for the day were picked up by Aloysius Hendricks on Hole No. 4 and Ma Li Min on Hole No. 11. There was also 4 two’s on the day which meant that Rae Kondes, Ian Broom, Pierre Lefebvre and Aloysius Hendricks picked up their fare share of the pot.
